It’s been a successful transition from leading Grad Resources to the wonderful position of President Emeritus. I continue to serve Grad Resources in my role as Elder Statesman, primarily telling the story of the history of Grad Resources and new ways to partner in their future. Just last week I had an hour-long visit with the graduate dean of Harvard.
I also launched a NEW venture in order to open doors in Europe and provide new resources for struggling grads in America. Their recent study on PhD Stress emphasizes the need for our services. I am so excited about an App I created; by developing this tool for doctoral students we have…
· recruited and trained a dozen mentors to provide a supportive voice from seasoned peers
· provided an anonymous connection to peer mentors via text, email, phone and video chat
· created ongoing help for grads who chose to reconnect with their mentors
The service will be free to the young researchers in Europe through GlobalGradResources.eu
We will offer a similar App in the US through a for-profit company, MentorConnectorPro.com. We will lease the service to graduate schools in America for an annual fee, so that they can make it available free of charge to their students. Profits from this venture will facilitate the expansion of the global grad effort. including our plans to hire a Europe Director, train leaders, and develop new materials. Please pray for partners and the success of the App.
The App is in draft stage, mentors are ready and the test launch is about to begin. I’d ask you to help make it happen.
· Would you consider praying for this App to launch in the US in spring?
· Would you invite friends to connect with our GoFundMe page and help the cause through (Facebook, Twitter, friends, etc)?
Tuesday we celebrated my birthday and had a gathering at our home to officially announce the Mentor App and open the GoFundMe page. These folks prayed for the new App to have kingdom impact, for mentors to come forward, and for grad lives to be transformed. I was blessed to have the support of these friends, as well as YOU who have carried me in prayer for years.
